When I'm not behind the chair, styling and caring for textured hair, you’ll most likely find me indulging in my other passions—travel, music, art, and dance. These parts of my life fuel my creativity and have a huge influence on the way I approach hair styling. I’ve always believed that beauty is an art form, and I draw inspiration from the world around me, especially when I’m exploring new places.
Traveling has always been one of my greatest joys. Every time I visit a new city or country, I make it a point to observe the local hair trends. Whether it's a unique braid pattern in a small town or a cutting-edge style in a bustling city, I'm always curious to see how different cultures express themselves through hair. These experiences often inspire me to bring fresh ideas and perspectives back to the salon, helping me stay connected to the ever-evolving world of textured hair.
But my love for creativity doesn’t stop with hair. Music and art are deeply woven into who I am. Some of my fondest memories come from my childhood, growing up in a home filled with music.
My dad, in particular, played a huge role in shaping my love for it. I’ll never forget the day he put on one of his favorite records, asked me to stand on his feet, and taught me how to dance. Holding his hands and moving to the music, he became my first dance partner, and that memory still brings me so much joy. It’s moments like those that remind me of the power of music—it connects us in ways that words can’t always do.
Music wasn’t just confined to the living room, though. I’m also grateful to my uncle, who often took me to live concerts in the city. Those experiences opened my eyes to different genres, rhythms, and beats, and taught me how diverse and rich the world of music really is. Whether it's live jazz, R&B, or a classical piece, I’ve always found a sense of freedom and expression in music that mirrors the creativity I bring into my hair styling.
Art, music, and dance are all forms of self-expression, just like hair. I see so many parallels between them—the way a song can tell a story, the way a painting can evoke emotion, and the way a hairstyle can make someone feel seen and beautiful. That’s why I don’t see hair as just something we wear but as an extension of our identity.
In everything I do—whether it’s creating a new hairstyle, traveling the world in search of inspiration, or dancing to the music that shaped my childhood—my goal is always to bring joy, creativity, and connection. I live for these moments of inspiration and expression, and I’m excited to share that passion with my clients, both in and out of the salon.
With love:
