Starter Locs (Traditional Locs and Micro) There are several professional methods used to start traditional locs. Because each method requires different time, technique, and pricing, a consultation is mandatory before booking. Starter locs may be created using: Comb Coils Two-Strand Twists Braids Interlocking Instant Locing Pricing varies based on method, hair length, density, desired parting size, and overall time required. Final pricing is discussed and confirmed during the consultation. Example starting prices & time ranges: Comb Coils: starting at $200 | approx. 2 hours Two-Strand Twists: starting at $400 | approx. 4–6+ hours Braids: starting at $500 | approx. 3–5+ hours Instant Locs: up to $2,000 | approx. 5–8+ hours Microlocs: up to $2,000+ | approx. 8-10+ hours (Twists, Braids or Interloc $3,000+) These are starting estimates, not guaranteed prices. Extended time, added density, or custom parting may increase the final cost. No starter loc appointments are booked without a completed consultation.
